What's in my bag?

I saw this tag in a Youtube video by Tanya Burr and thought it would be a great idea to do in a blog with pictures. So I emptied out my bag and unleashed all the things inside, you never know what can creep into your bag! Here it is, hope you enjoy:)
This is my bag that I carry around with me to most places. I purchased it in Primark earlier on this year for only £6, bargain! I really like the material and the size is perfect.

Here are my first items out of my bag. On the left is my compact mirror that one of my friends gave me - I love the design on the front. In the middle is my purse which I got from Internationale in the sale. I only really use this purse for spare change in case I need any in a emergency. If I go shopping I usually take my bigger purse:) On the right is my small notebook for jotting down small notes, lists and reminders. I find it really useful when I have this in my bag, it's just a handy thing to have.

These three next things I find myself constantly using. Hand lotion, hand gel and mouthwash. They are all in travel sized pots so they are easy to carry. Since getting my retainers I have preferred (when I am out of the house) to mouthwash after any meals. Even when my retainers are gone I may still have this in my bag as it is just useful if you want to freshen your mouth:)

This is my lip slave (from Boots) and lip balm/gloss (from the Body Shop). I rarely use the raspberry lip gloss it is a 'just in case' item in my bag. But the lip salve I find really helpful if you get sore lips in the winter or dried out lips in the summer - it's always there to help.

My hairbrush, hair slides, tissues and tic tacs. These again are really useful being in my bag. I have a little pot for my hair slides because it is always a nightmare trying to rummage around in the bottom of your bag finding the damn things:)

Earphones are a 'must have' in my bag. I always need earphones in case of long car journeys and you just want to listen to music or when you can't remember a song so you have to play it! I have two pairs because one are my apple pair which are broken so only one ear is working and my other pair are my nokia pair but they are not always in my bag;) There is also a spare napkin in my bag, I must've picked up at a restaurant;). And last but not least my umbrella cover. In the UK it is very likely that there will be a sudden rain shower so it is always good to carry around an umbrella - whether it is in your bag or your car.

I hope you have enjoyed having a sneak peek into my bag. I really enjoy doing these sort of posts.

Cute, Little Purchases

Recently I have found myself buying lots of small things/gifts. Since I had quite a few, I thought why not share it with you? So here are my most recent purchases. Enjoy:)

Phone Case
I bought this off Amazon with a couple of screen protectors. I absolutely love the design of it. I think it is a kind of Indian design.

Slate Heart
I bought this for a friend for her birthday as I thought it would be nice as a small gift. I purchased it from Hobbycraft.

Note Paper
These notes I now have on my desk. I find them really handy if I want to quickly scribble something down like a shopping list or just reminders. I got these from Ikea.

Candle
This is my favourite scent from the Yankee Candle collection. It is black cherry and the smell is gorgeous. I bought it in Clinton cards.

Owl Decoration
This is my final purchase. I didn't actually buy this but I got given it as a present but I thought it was too cute not to include it in this post. This is a metal owl with a rustic look to it. I absolutely love it and it goes really well with my room:)

That is the end of my post now, I hope you have enjoyed reading it.

A little sea shell ornament

As you may have seen in my last post I decorated a plain white frame with shells. I also made this cute ornament with the remaining shells.

Again, you need your handy tube of UHU (but you can use PVA) and a large shell. My shell was about two inches across. I then used some of the tiny shells out of the packet I bought at the shop to stick in the large shell.
I used the bigger shells first and started at the back of the large shell. I made my way to the front using smaller shells. In all the small gaps I fitted tiny shells in.
 Here is my final piece!

That is both of the frame and ornament together. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. I think this is a lovely, homemade idea for a gift or just to keep for yourself:)

Sea Shell Crafts

The other day, I went to my nearest beach and collected up lots of tiny shells with an idea in my head. I found a small, white frame I had bought from IKEA a few months ago and I had never got round to do anything with it. Today, I cleaned my shells and found my tube of UHU.

I am now going to show you step by step how to make a frame decorated with sea shells, enjoy!

Step 1:
I first cleaned all my shells and dried them with a towel. You don't have to go to the beach to get shells, you can always buy them in a craft shop (then you won't have to wash them!) I then separated them into piles of 'Big Shells' and 'Small Shells'. I also got my frame which is plain white.

Step 2:
I then took the glass out of the frame so it wouldn't get covered in stringy bits of glue and started placing the shells where I wanted them to go. I started by putting my bigger shells on the outer part of the frame.

I slotted the smaller pink shells in between the bigger ones to create some sort of pattern. On the corners I have placed bigger white shells that I had bought from a shop but you can always just carry on your pattern round.

Step 3: I then used my tube of UHU to stick the shells on. You can probably use PVA glue too but I prefer to use UHU because it sticks just a bit better.

Step 4:
After you have stuck them all on, you have to wait a while to let them dry. Here is my final piece:)

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. I certainly had fun writing it and making the frame. Thank you so much for reading x

Pink Grapefruit - The Body Shop

If you know me well then you will know that I absolutely love the pink grapefruit smell from the Body Shop. I have purchased over the last year a few of the pink grapefruit products, okay maybe not a few! I just wanted to share my collection with you as a Summer treat. I love this scent because it is fresh and fruity and on a hot summer's day, it is perfect. I prefer to stick to the fruity scents rather than the sweeter ones from the body shop even though I do like white musk, their famous scent! So here is my collection, enjoy;)

Body Puree - Body Mist - Hand Cleanse Gel - Body Butter - Lip Gloss - Body Sorbet

- Body Butter -

I love this body butter because it is smooth and creamy. You can apply it easily and it isn't too oily. I can feel a difference in my skin afterwards and it smells delicious.

 - Hand Cleanse Gel & Body Puree -

These two bottles always come in handy. They are perfect size to just slip in your bag and take away. The hand cleanser has a very sharp smell which is lovely and the body puree I mostly use on my hands if they feel dry.

 - Body Sorbet -
This is my most recent purchase from the body shop. I bought it to take on holiday with me as it describes itself as a cooling moisturizer so why not when you are going somewhere warm? It proved me right! I used it couple of times after showering and it did the trick, lovely.

- Body Mist -
This is one of my first purchases of the pink grapefruit range. I just love this. Even though it may not last a while, the first spritz is wonderful. It's nice after a hot day because it cools you and the smell is refreshing.

- Lip Gloss -
This also actually smells of pink grapefruit. Its consistency isn't too oily or thick. It may have a little shimmer but not a lot which is nice for a casual day. It has never dried out my lips as some lip glosses do.

I hope you have enjoyed looking and reading through my collection of Pink Grapefruit products.
